The ISSFA Fabricator of the Year Award went to Mitch Makowski of Solid Surfaces Inc. "for being a successful fabricator who shares his knowledge and experiences with other fabricators and being a fabricator role model."
The ISSFA Hall of Fame Award went to John Forst of Design Fabrication for his work and dedication to ISSFA and the solid surface industry for numerous years, putting his money, labor and time into growing ISSFA.
The right focus, the right place
Ultimately, the Solid Surface International Expo is the only place people in this industry can go to find all of their peers, vendors and even their competitors in one place. And knowing they are all there focusing on the same things is what makes the show great. The atmosphere has the feel of an industry family reunion much more than a high-pressure sales arena.
All in all, SSIE 2005 was a great show. It offered a wealth of knowledge and a look at the best and brightest new products for the solid surface and engineered stone industries. There is no doubt that fabricators left with new ideas, new products and plans to return to the show in 2006.
