A very important piece of equipment in the world of a fabricator is the saw. This basic tooling, while consistently remaining a necessity in any shop, continues to change and evolve to user needs. The DSX ADVANCE vertical panel saws from Adwood Corp. feature the newly developed ADVANCE
gripper system, which reportedly minimizes the lifting of heavy panels and labor costs as
well as eliminates the need of wedges or shims at a vertical cut. The saws are available
in two sizes and come with such improvements as pneumatically controlled scoring, transport
rollers, LED control panel, roller bearing guides and welded box frame. |

From the Selcon line, Biesse America offers the versatile EB108 panel saw. Available in
both manual front loading and automatic rear loading, the machine reportedly meets the needs
of the most demanding user. Additional features include: a Selco-patented frame construction,
quick disconnect tooling, electronic scoring adjustment, helical rack and pinion saw carriage
drive and a 21-hp main saw motor. |

Colonial Saw's Striebig Compact Plus Auto vertical panel saw features standard aluminum
fingers that can be moved individually along the horizontal T-slotted center shelf bar to
customize the saw. For greater comfort when sawing small panels, workpiece support is provided
along the full length of the saw. Other improvements include a shifting grid that moves upward
so that it can't be jammed or damaged by off-cuts leaning against the frame, a 24-in.
repetitive rip device with a roller follower and a measuring stop that flips out of the way.
The saw can handle sheets up to 6 ft. 9 in. by 15 ft. 1in. There is additional dust extraction
and new plunge-handle "telescopes" to facilitate the ripping of tall panels.
Other features include heavy-duty support rollers and adjustable cutting depth. |

The Mayer PS9 Front Load panel saw from Delmac of its heavy-duty construction,
Windows PC-based controller and cut quality through a saw carriage guidance system. The saw
is suited for single sheet to book cutting of solid surface, particle board, MDF, solid wood
and other materials. |

Hendrick offers the HP 3, a fully computerized automatic indexing vertical panel saw. It
is suitable for stability and straight line accuracy reports the company. The machine has

Saw Trax's Freedom Saw is a "floating" panel saw and works like
a floating router. The saw rides on the material eliminating the gap between the saw plate
and the top of the material, where the dust on a typical panel saw escapes. It uses a 10
amp Makita saw with a 4 ⅜-in. blade for a ¾ in. depth of cut. A Delryn

Impact C 105 line of high performance panel saws. The saws incorporate heavy-duty construction
with high speed and optimized movements to allow for fast cycle times reports the company.
With a saw projection of 105mm (4.13 in.), saw carriage speed of up to 135 m/min (442 fpm)
and pusher speeds of 70 m/min (230 fpm) the saws can reportedly help to increase shop productivity.
