Computer numerical controlled (CNC) technology continues to gain ground in surface fabrication shops and the technology continues to advance. Continuous Production Modules (CPM), a customized high production system configuration from CMS/Brembana, is a single production line, integrated and fully automatic consisting of various modules to achieve high production with minimal manpower. Continuous production involves a line process for cutting, shaping and finishing. This line works with the full integration of software and hardware. The CPM can be configured with both manual and/or automatic conveyors for movement of the materials. Material handling system includes: shuttle car, motorized conveyors, loading and unloading vacuum arm, undercut blade for steel rod grooves, flip tables, and Photo and Slab System (PaSS). Thibaut's T818 M low-wall CNC center, distributed by EuroStone, was designed with versatility in mind. The T818 is a monobloc unit which gives easy access to the walk-around table which, because of its low height, can also be loaded with a fork-lift. When used as part of a "flow through" system, such as THIBAUT's "T.O.P.S." continuous production line, slabs are transferred from the saw (which also has open ends), to an optional slab flipper for working face down, to the T818's prep table (where the vacuum pods are set up) and then to the working table.
