The new Striebig COMPACT, from Colonial Saw is designed to meet the needs of smaller shops. The freestanding, rigid unit can handle sheets up to 5 by 10 ft. It cuts edges on particleboard, acrylic, composite, plastic and non-ferrous-metal panels. Performance-enhancing features include heavy-duty support rollers and adjustable cutting depth. Other improvements include a shifting grid that moves upward so that it can't be jammed or damaged by off-cuts leaning against the frame, as well as a flip up measuring stop.

The variable speed spindle routs and edges straight along with decorative radius shapes on up to 6-cm stone. The profiler can accommodate 42 separate tools with a built in laser guided system and utilizes a double table system. RoboLogic software allows one-step importing of DXF files.

CMS/Brembana SPRINT is a fully interpolated 5-axis bridge saw capable of cutting miter cut at any angle from zero to ninety degrees. A 25-hp direct drive motor is mounted on a rotating head. The "PaSS", Photo and Slab System, takes the digital image of the slab where the pieces are nested for maximum slab usage. The machine comes standard with EasyCut software for onboard programming.

KMT Waterjet Systems offer the Streamline PRO 90,000 psi waterjet cutting pump. With speeds up to mach 4 in water pressure, the pump has capability for the fastest waterjet cutting process in the stone and tile fabrication industries. The Vollmer QXD400 and QXD200 provide technology for finishing PCD tools to optimize cutting edges for use in abrasive machining applications. The erosion generator removes material to within 10 microns of the finish dimension and the grinding wheel follows, finishing the tool in a single machine setup. The machines feature simultaneous movement of the six programmable axes to reportedly facilitate any tool design that can be created. The QXD400 can finish tools up to 400mm in diameter and the QXD200 handles tools up to 250mm in diameter.
