A finely-made solid surface countertop is a beautiful thing in and of itself. However, there are a multitude of solid surface accessories that add to the beauty as well as the value of the finished product.
What's more, these accessories require a limited amount of labor, and can be sold alongside any fabrication/installation job, making them relatively efficient sources of pure income.
There are numerous companies that manufacture and distribute a host of different solid surface accessories and here are a few that are just a phone call away.
Grifform
Grifform Innovations Inc. is a large solid surface components manufacturer that sells to both fabricators and other distribution companies.
The company is heavily into thermoforming, and can make many products using improved fabrication techniques that technology allows. The company makes accessories such as hand rails, gurney guards, column wraps, shower caddies, shower pans, drain strainers, table tops, backsplashes, splash guards, switch plates, window columns and sills, signs, insets, fireplace mantles, and bath surrounds, as well as sinks, bowls, baby baths, furniture and marine and recreational vehicle products.
Grifform also works with plastics, wood and building components, which it has seen success with when adding to SS accessories.
"Because we've been a very versatile manufacturer, we've made a lot of different items, mostly proprietary for a lot of different designers," said Owner Dwight Griffin. "We make components for fabricators that they normally don't want to build. For instance, shower pans are complex and have to meet so many regulations and requirements as plumbing fixtures. It's just not cost-effective for a fabricator to be involved in that. Ours are certified by the National Association of Home Builders to meet all standards and requirements for national building codes. Plumbing fixtures, like electrical fixtures, have to be certified for sale in the U.S."
Many of the components the company offers would be huge headaches for the typical fabricator but are standard for it.
"Things fabricators wouldn't have ordinarily attempted to do, they can now get from us to complement their fabrications and installations," added Griffin.
