I just found this site, and I am looking forword to hopefully getting some answers and mabye helping some others with some answers.
We are running an Axyz 7012 and using Phototop to do templates. Both of these products do a good job. The only draw back I seem to be having is the time it takes to process the job. and the fact that it takes a long to to train someone else to do it. For the past year or so, I have been looking into different software to help. Mastercam and Solidworks with Solidworks Cam seem to have what we need the only problem is that everything is written in gcode and the axyz machine does not read it. I was wondering if anyone else has or is coming across this same problem and if you have found a fix.
I would appriciate any input . Thanks,Scott

Scott,

It sounds like you are making good use of your 7012. The addition of another CAM package will certainly open up more possibilities. The AXYZ Systems have always been compatible with G code systems. There are a couple of differnet ways to get NC code to your machine, either through ToolPath, or through the AXYZ DNC (Direct Numerical Control) program.
Each different CAM software has a different set of post processors, for each different machine control that is out there. If we don't have a post for the software you choose, we can work with you or your vendor to sort one out for you.
If you need assistance with importing NC files to ToolPath, you can contact me at

gjenkins (at) axyz.com

and I will arrange time for you to work with our tech support group to get connected.

Anything else that we can be of assistance with, do not hesitate to ask.

Thanks Greg. I have sent off an Email to my MasterCam Rep. To set up a meeting. I don't understand in full the different codes. All I know is there has to be a way to streamline what I am doing. I have in the past contacted Axyz about this and never got a response so I do appriciate any input you can give.

Hello Scott,

I use AlphaCam and I trained one guy fairly quickly. He did have previous computer skills though.

The cool thing about AlphaCam is that it is all in one. No exporting the file to another program to run on the CNC. Not sure if that would work for your machine.
