All:

As I was cutting up some Dovae I kept thinking, "Damn, it doesn't look like I've got enough material here." That's because some of their sheets are ten footers instead of the twelves I mistakenly thought I was getting. Be sure you check when you order.

Be sure to check the thickness of the sheets too. I'm not making this up but one sheet was 1/2" and the other, color matched, was 7/16"! Of course, I had to seam the two together, in more than one place. What a pain in the a$$! There was no time for a return.

On another job, I showed the Dovae sample to the customer which they approved. I called to order and the color has been discontinued! No notice from Dovae. Fortunately, they've had more demand for this color and there is an eight-week back order wait. Fortunately, this is a sill job and I have a patient customer.

The service at Dovae is first-rate, when I called to complain about the discontinuation, the President called me back. I haven't told him about the 1/16" sheet difference yet.

There's a price for cheap solid surface,

Joe

I talked with the folks at Dovea and they are all really nice people. Amazing when the president of a company will talk to you like a normal person.

Dovea' poly material is 120" long, while the acrylic is 144". Anyone know who makes Dovea? :)

I know who makes Dovae - The Low Bidder (which can change frequently)

How confident does that make you?
