I am trying to produce a list of the ten most difficult restorations or impossible methods to do restoration.
For example I had a guy tell me it's impossible to polish green marble without buffing compounds.
Any ideas or maybe other places to look for these difficulties would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm not sure if this is really un-repairable, but we once put in a set of vanities in Cashmere White granite, and the plumber used something with oil in it when he installled the faucets. A dark ring started forming around the faucets, and spread to a dark ring about 6" in diameter.
The customer demanded replacement tops, and we couldn't find anyone who could remove the stains.
Any ideas?
Len,
I hope you gave the poor plumber a good price on the tops HE had to replace.
From what I know from speaking with Stone Fabricators and reading the stone BB, plumbers putty is one of the worse stains to get. I would assume most plumbers would know this and either not use it or be extremly careful. I bet your plumber doesn't make that mistake again !
