I have got my first request for a tub surround along with a countertop, so I guess I am committed on the tub. She is looking at Staron Sanded Sahara. It is a tub 32x 59 garden tub

Can someone tell me about how they do these? Corners, edges, attaching to the wall, seams, cost ect....

KC,

We make a temp for the back wall and install either tight to the ceiling or if there is a trim piece, leave it short. If the piece will fit in the bath in one piece do that, If it won't fit, make a seam.

The side panels will be templated and cut on the job as above.

Then we make trim peices for the corners. Basically a 1/2 x 1/2 Quarter round. Apply continuous silicone and stick in corner.

Use regular silicone and hot glue to hold the panel in place. Get some slow cure hot glue so you have a bit more time.

The exposed edges will get a 1/8" radius or some customers want a 3" trim piece on the leading edge where they will attach the shower door. Plus that piece makes it look more substantial.

Corst, you are on your own. Can't talk about that here. But you might just loose you ass the first job. I would suggest tracking all the time so you know for the next one. It really isn't that complicated, just awkward.

Good luck and let us know how it turned out.
