Hi Guys,

Recently I'm getting more inquiries from our cutomers for supplying high gloss acrylic doors for kitchen/vanity. (Comparing to 2 pack painted doors acrylic doors are much more durable and hygienic.)

In my understanding this MMA acrylic sheets are not suitable for surface material due to its dimensional stability however like ASSM it can be thermoformed and also can achieve seamless look.

I think it is good oppotunity for our industry that we can offer broader ranges to our customer.

To take this oppotunity, I would like to share other fabricator's opinion on this matter.

Also I would be appreciated if any of you can recommend me the manufacturer/supplier of this sheet (18mm thickness coloured acrylic sheet)

Have a good day!!

Rex

Hello rexaroo. I like your thinking. Solid Surface has so many advantages. We have been fabricating not just doors out of SS but also complete cabinets. There is a company in England that makes a insert that you can glue in to help mount cabinet hinges. Its called a squirrel.

If you goggle corian squirrels the company name will come up.

Heres a link to some of our projects that SS doors where used.

Thanks for your reply with detailed info.!!

It seems that for the kitchen doors and vertical applications many of ASSM fabricators are using product call 'Parapan' which I believe its Degussa's product.

Anyone here knows what advantages Parapan has over acrylic solid surface product?? (In terms of performance and fabrication ability??)

Look forward to hearing from you guys!!

Rexaroo!!
